Degree Plan and Transfer of Credits

Your advisor will help you create a degree plan based on your past military and work experience as well as future aspirations.

Your advisor will also help you determine what hours you may be able to transfer in or earn through the DBU Patriot Advantage® Program.

DBU grants undergraduate credit on military service based on the recommendations provided by the American Council on Education (ACE). You can also transfer an unlimited number of hours from regionally accredited four-year institutions, or up to 66 hours from regionally accredited two-year colleges.

The DBU Patriot Advantage® allows you to earn up to 30 hours of undergraduate credit based on college-level learning gained through life and work experience.

Requesting Your Transcripts

You will need to request transcripts from any previously attended college or university. If you will be transferring in less than 30 credit hours, you will also need to request a high school transcript. To receive ACE credits, you will need to submit a military transcript (such as AARTS, SMART, CCAF, Coastal Guard Institute, or DSST Examinations).

Transcripts can be mailed to:
